Labeling and alcohol health literacy
Deciding whether or not to drink, and how much to drink, is a personal choice. It’s important to talk to your doctor or primary healthcare provider who can help you understand your own risk factors and advise you on whether moderate drinking fits into your health plan.
For some people, especially those with specific health issues or a family history of certain diseases, the best choice might be to avoid drinking altogether.
Also, it’s important to remember:
- Pregnant women should not drink.
- Underage individuals should avoid alcohol.
- Excessive drinking should be avoided by everyone.
- No one should drive or operate heavy machinery after drinking.
Our goal is to ensure that by 2025, all our beer products comply with labelling laws to boost alcohol health awareness. We believe in being transparent and helping our consumers understand responsible drinking. That’s why we’re committed to improving alcohol literacy.
In 2019, we started updating our packaging to match standards in the rest of Africa, adding icons to remind everyone not to drink and drive and not to drink while pregnant. This effort is part of our mission to enhance alcohol health awareness in our market.
